Thanks for visiting!
This project is now in update mode. Thank you to everyone who contributed to NNGO Student Relief. To see your impact, please view the updates tab!
These past four weeks have been an amazing journey together raising funds for fellow Nonprofit and NGO Studies students at Northern Illinois University! The outpouring of support has been incredible and beyond our wildest dreams! THANK YOU to everyone who donated, shared our campaign, and helped us along the way!
Together, we passed our initial goal in the first two weeks and raised additional funds to help even more students connect with communities. We reached 116% of our goal and can assist nearly 100 students at the Center for Nonprofit and NGO Studies. Simply incredible, we cannot thank our donors enough!
Our supporters have not only provided resources for NNGO students to be successful in the classroom and community, but they also proved that undergraduate students have the potential to empower future generations of students. This campaign is an inspiration to tomorrow’s leaders looking to #MakeADifference!
Thanks again!
We'd like to start by expressing our gratitude to everyone for all the amazing support that you have given us throughout this project! Together, we surpassed our goal of $1,000. THANK YOU!
Because of your support in funding our initial goal, we would love to reach a new goal of $1,500. This would enable the Center for Nonprofit and NGO Studies to help additional students with educational needs. We have just over two weeks remaining to prepare future leaders to reach their potential!
Please continue to #MakeADifference by sharing our project!
Friends of NIU,
Our fundraising initiative for project NNGO Student Relief is over halfway there! So far, we have raised $730, which is 73% of our goal! In just two days your generosity surpassed our halfway mark, and there are 26 days left! We're amazed and grateful for your outpouring of support!
Would you consider helping us reach our next milestone by sharing our project with your network? Let's keep the momentum going to #MakeADifference for future leaders!
Thank you! We are thrilled to be on this journey with you!

NNGO Students
The Center for Nonprofit and NGO Studies is home to energetic students who are engaged in learning how to maximize impact and change for good in local communities. Their desire to address social problems and help the disadvantaged needs to be shaped by hands-on opportunities and workshops. Providing real world experience like internships and conferences is just one of the many ways that the Center connects students with those communities.
“It helps students gain experience addressing complex social problems by demonstrating highly sought-after workforce skills like leadership, problem-solving, critical thinking, adaptability, and teamwork.” – Iowa Campus Compact
Many students are trying to balance part-time jobs with internships and a full course load. A gift of $250 alleviates that burden by helping a student fund internship and research expenses. It is more than just a donation; it is the foundation upon which students will continue to grow and serve the vibrant communities around them! We want to see social change and equity, and this is a tangible way to #MakeADifference!
Hi everyone! We are Adrian Ruiz, team leader; Daniele Leonard, technology leader; Madilyn Perez, communications leader; and Emma McMahon, social media leader. We are so excited to be fundraising for the Center for Nonprofit and NGO Studies to give back just a small portion of what they have given to us! Over the next month, you will hear from us in a variety of ways where we will share stories, success, and more about the great students and staff that you can #MakeADifference for too.
Help with a student's travel expenses to campus and to nonprofit organizations.
Supply an NNGO student with a textbook and other class materials.
Support a student's visit to a local nonprofit organization, a professional development course, or a community engagement project!
Hands-on learning gives students a greater chance to succeed in their field once they graduate. Your contribution will help with internship costs or research expenses!
If a student owes $500 or more, they cannot enroll for upcoming classes. Close the gap for a student and ensure they can register for required courses!
With your help, we can #MakeADifference together in the lives of tomorrow's leaders! Your scholarship gift will help a student cross the finish line and prepare them to serve local communities!
