Stretch goal = $1,500!
You helped us reach our original goal, let's continue to #MakeADifference! A stretch goal of $1,500 would help five more students attend a community experience!
Students call the Center for Nonprofit and NGO Studies a home and powerful resource--over the past ten years, the Center has prepared and educated a diverse, enthusiastic group of alumni and current students for careers in the nonprofit sector and beyond. #MakeADifference drives the Center for Nonprofit and NGO Studies.
With your help, the Center can continue providing the proper funds and supplies to offer hands-on experiences in the classroom, through internships, research, and other event experiences for students to create social change and improve the community.
“I knew I wanted to help people somehow, and I think coming to NIU--finding the Nonprofit Studies major--has really allowed me to really jump into this field. These scholarships that I’ve received--they just mean the world to me. It’s really made a difference in what, I think, I’ve been able to do here. I’ve been able to get an internship. I’ve been able to get involved with different organizations that have really helped me grow. I’ve been able to immerse myself in these opportunities and just my overall NIU experience. Getting these scholarships was a way that someone could acknowledge that I had potential, and they want to see me do bigger and better things that I wouldn’t have been able to do without their support.” Emma McMahon, Junior
Students and alumni of the Center for Nonprofit and NGO Studies continuously prove they are the next generation of nonprofit leaders in DeKalb and beyond by tirelessly giving back to the community both inside and outside of the classroom. Like Emma, many students need financial assistance to be able to take advantage of the many resources the Center has to offer. These students deserve your support.
Without immediate action, the Nonprofit and NGO Studies program will not be able to provide students as many opportunities of practical experience in the university and community that prepares students for careers and care beyond lectures and readings or provide the support that students desperately need to have the full, NIU Center for Nonprofit and NGO Studies experience. Take this opportunity to finally give back to students who have done so much, and #MakeADifference with us today!

Hands-on learning gives students a greater chance to succeed in their field once they graduate. Your contribution will help with internship costs or research expenses!
If a student owes $500 or more, they cannot enroll for upcoming classes. Close the gap for a student and ensure they can register for required courses!
With your help, we can #MakeADifference together in the lives of tomorrow's leaders! Your scholarship gift will help a student cross the finish line and prepare them to serve local communities!
