We do too! The Southeast Asia Crossroads podcast is a free educational podcast produced by the NIU Center for Southeast Asian Studies. Founded in 2016 with funding from the US Department of Education Title VI grant, the Podcast has grown to more than 120+ episodes with listenership in 50 countries. Discussions are wide-ranging and cover topics such as malaria resistance in upland populations, ground water quality in Cambodia and Thailand, elephant riders in Burma, Balinese traditional shadow puppets, Hmong bride grabbing, Vietnamese poetry in diaspora, Chinese investments in Laos, Javanese shipwrecks, and more!

Why we need your help?
On Wednesday September 10, the Department of Education terminated the National Resource Center grants for all 113 centers across the country, effectively ending six decades of International programming and Area Studies education conducted under the Title VI grants of the Higher Education Act of 1965.
How will the donations be used?
Your donation will help Southeast Asia Crossroads podcast be financially independent. It will help pay for our student producer from the Recording Arts program, train graduate students in the Southeast Asian Studies program to create lesson plans and do public-facing scholarship as content producers and guests hosts, provide a small honorarium to our guest speakers for their time and expertise, and upgrade recording equipment in our podcast studio.
