The Center for the Study of Women, Gender and Sexuality (CSWGS) is working to raise funds this month for the Austin Sawicki Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship gives financial assistance to students who take classes in Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies (WGSS) and we need your help!
Ensuring affordability is a top priority for the CSWGS and we have a goal of raising $5,000 by November 6th!
Donations of $50.00 or more will receive a badly hand painted picture of a cat, lovingly done by our director, Dr. Katy Jaekel.
Perhaps more important than a badly painted picture of a cat, your generous donation will assist in helping NIU students achieve their academic goals by being able to offset the cost of tuition. 100% of funds raised here will go directly to our student scholarship. 101: Intro to WGSS
Donors for this tier have finished WGSS 101: Introduction to Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies. Congrats! WGSS 101 is a required course for all students pursuing a minor, certificate, or major through CSWGS.

201: Global Gender Justice
Donors for this tier have finished WGSS 201: Global Gender Justice. This coursed, required for WGSS majors and minors, takes a look at systems of power from a global/transnational perspective.

300: Research Methods in WGSS
Donors for this tier have finished WGSS 300: Research Methods in Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies. Required for all WGSS majors, this course teaches students critical research skills as they develop their own research proposal.

Donors for this tier have completed WGSS 350: LGBTQ+ Studies. This course expands on topics of sex, gender, sexuality, power, and oppression. This required course is a student favorite!
