Support the NIU Huskie Marching Band & Silverettes

Throughout our proud history, thousands of dedicated NIU Huskies have marched, played, twirled, and danced in the band, making for thrilling performances, lifelong friends, and countless treasured memories from their days on the field. 

“Success in marching band is not just about hitting the right notes; it’s about moving forward together.” Just like on the field, it takes concerted effort and support behind the scenes to ensure the Huskie Marching Band’s continued success. Their continued legacy of success relies heavily upon ongoing efforts to secure funding for new instruments, music, travel--and for 2026, new uniform expenses.  

We are asking for the support of invested NIU alumni, family, and friends to ensure our 2026 edition of “the Pride of the Midwest” students can look as good as they sound. Please consider making a donation before the end of the year towards our $20,000 goal in support of new band uniforms, durable raincoats for the Silverettes and other gear needed to keep them well-outfitted on the field! This effort is part of our on-going $210,000 overall fundraising goal. By making a gift today, you will help ensure the students’ efforts in precision uniformity of music, marching, and routines are complemented by similarly outstanding new uniforms and gear.

Interested in a keepsake uniform? Donations of $1,000 or more will receive a keepsake uniform (limit one), which includes a jacket and pants, after they are retired this year. The fair market value of the uniform is $400 and will be noted as such on donor receipts for tax purposes. Please note that uniforms will be mailed after the New Year, when the current uniforms are retired.
