At NIU, Civil Service employees are the backbone of our university. Civil Service employees dedicate their time and energy to keeping our campus running smoothly. Yet, many of these dedicated employees struggle to make ends meet when unexpected financial hardships arise, whether due to medical emergencies, housing crises, or unforeseen expenses.
The Civil Service Emergency Fund exists to provide a critical safety net, offering up to $500 in assistance to civil service staff facing financial distress. However, the demand far exceeds available funding, leaving many applicants without the desperately needed support.
Your generosity can change that. By growing this fund, we can ensure that no NIU employee is left without help in their time of need. However, without sustained contributions, we cannot meet the rising need.
