Art created for the community must include the communities’ voice, interests, and values. An uplifting, dynamic, and meaningful mural can’t be made in a vacuum; their insight and suggestions are crucial! To learn more about the kids, we conducted five focus groups, one with each grade level (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th). Through games, drawings, and conversation, we uncovered their love of the outdoors, superheroes, animals, and of course . . . snacks!
We absolutely loved the kids and are very excited to create a mural they enjoy!!
