The Northern Illinois University College of Law has created “Project Huskie Support," a student emergency fund, in an effort to provide some financial support to law students who are experiencing an emergency that impacts their ability to attend law school.
Many of our law students have faced some sort of challenge, especially while living through the COVID pandemic: unexpected job loss, food insecurity, a medical emergency, the loss of housing and increased gas prices, all while still managing to have enough money for food and rent.
Our students have faced these and other unanticipated financial crisis. While our students are resilient, resourceful and innovative, each of these situations shows how many of them are one event away from financial instability. We are deeply committed to assisting our students, and with the support of our university community and friends of the College of Law, we can help them navigate these challenges.
LET'S GO HUSKIES!
