Our Crowdfunding Groups
The NIU Flute Choir directed by Scott Metlicka and the Trombone Choir directed by Timothy Riordan have been selected by competitive audition to perform at the National Flute Association Convention and the International Trombone Festival this summer. For each group, these are the largest and most prestigious events for their respective instruments and represent significant achievements by our NIU student musicians. In addition to performing at the conferences and sharing what our NIU musicians can do, our students will be able to attend concerts, workshops and masterclasses by the internationally renowned artists on their instruments.
Support is needed to help the students travel to and attend the conventions. Funds will be used to defray travel, registration fees and housing during the events.
