“Success is where preparation and opportunity meet!”
Our request is simple! Our goal is to provide scholarships for at least 3 students to prepare successfully for the upcoming bar exam. With this support, the students can devote their time to much-needed study.
Preparation for the bar exam is an intense process that all attorneys have to endure in order to be licensed. This process is often made more trying by the fact that, due to financial circumstances, graduates have to work in order to support themselves, thus limiting their ability to devote their time fully to studying for the bar exam. This year there are additional challenges due to the impacts of COVID-19 on employment opportunities and the switch to a remote bar examination.
We know that, for many graduates, financial support in the form of a scholarship would enable them to focus primarily on the bar exam. This exam is the last hurdle to becoming a licensed practicing attorney and Bar Preparation Scholarships provide support toward making a student’s dream of becoming an attorney come true. We know that with your financial support, our graduates can focus more on their studies and be better prepared to pass the bar exam.
Challenge #1 - Dean Hill will match the first $500 in donations!
Challenge #2 - Alumni Council President Omar Salguero ('12) will match the next ten $25 donations (up to $250)!
Final Challenge - Our final challenge is a Class Challenge. At the end of the campaign, we will recognize two classes - the class with the highest total amount donated and the class with the highest number of total donors.
Guess what...there's another challenge! Assistant Dean Melody Mitchell will match the next $250 in donations. As a bonus, that $250 will be added to the class that has the highest number of donors (any amount) between now and the end of the campaign tomorrow. Whatever amount you can donate will help us reach our goal. We're almost there, let's finish strong!
